I admire fellow potters who have developed their signature mugs. When we unload the kiln you just know who made each mug - there's no question. I am now on my journey for a mug with my style and function.

I have been making mugs for 3 years and I feel I am getting closer to my mug. I didn't realize I was attempting to find my mug but I kept trying to make an improvement each time.

This my first mug. The assignment was to make 4 mugs, hand-built or on the wheel. I hand-built 4 mugs with different slips and then a different sgraffito animal carved into mug. This is the bird mug.

I am planning to blog about my attempts and show what I have done so far. I am planning to show photos of my progress and show fellow potter's signature mugs in the weeks to come.
